Men’s Baseball Looks to Finish the Season Strong

Led by Manhattanville’s most winningest coach who has returned for his 13th season, Jeff Caulfield and his assistant coaches Chris Gruarin, Chris Nardozzi, and Jeff Moskowitz are looking to make noise in the MAC Freedom Tournament this season.

Head coach Caulfield currently possesses a 275-242-1 overall and 147-99 Conference record with just seven games remaining in the regular season. Conference and overall season success has been consistent throughout Caulfield’s tenure. He is looking for his 4th straight and 9th total successful season in Conference play. The success of the team remains in the six out of eight Conference games remaining.
Senior utility player Chris Conklin elaborated on how he kept the team motivated through the season.

“These last six conference games are the biggest games of the year and everyone on the team knows it. We are in control of our own destiny in regard to playoffs and we are all motivated to achieve our goal of winning the championship that we set for ourselves back in August,” said Conklin.

“I want to win a Freedom Conference championship. My teammates and I have done great things since our freshman season but the one thing we are missing is a conference championship,” continued Conklin. “That would be the perfect ending to our careers.”

The Valiants will have a tough schedule ahead of them, as they are competing for a top seed in the MAC Conference. But the Valiants do have quite the competitions, specifically with King’s, Eastern, and DeSales.

Upcoming games with the next couple of weeks include doubleheaders against DeSales, Wilkes, and Misericordia. The men’s baseball team is currently housing a 13-16 overall record and a 6-7 conference record, sitting in a close battle for third place with King’s and Eastern.
