Play up the cool and fun in your wardrobe as the mod and bohemian styles is making a comeback this fall season! With New York Fashion Week wrapped up, we see how styles on the runway are being translated into affordable street wear at retailers. Bold prints and shift dresses to knitwear and electric colors are just few of the fashion styles you’ll find hitting the racks.
We still see many of the 90s style but with a modern twist at stores. Think movies like Clueless and Jawbreakers where we can see our favorite characters like Cher wearing crop tops and sheer collar blouses, much like todays style. On the other hand, as we are ushering into a new season, we will take a step back a few decades earlier into the ever-cool and groovy 1960s London style, especially with Men’s wear.
With two bold colors, red and blue, becoming this season’s staple colors be expecting to see it on men’s flannel shirts, knitwear and coats. While we may think flannel being the lumberjack type shirt, make no mistake that it can be cool and sophisticated when paired just with a leather jacket, dark blue jeans and oxford shoes.
Much of men and women’s fashion are reflecting the same style, going hand in hand with what the season trends are. Women’s style will have plaid and leather skirts, as well as boxy coats and comfy knits to throw over your printed or embroidered collar shirt. Aside from the electric red and blue colors, black and white will also be coming along for this season style, which we can never go wrong with. You can go sleek with a black leather skirt and a plain gray or white shirt. Yet, playing up the colors with dark jeans, a Spanish red knit and black booties can really make a simple yet bold statement. In addition, there is also the bohemian chic trend as fringed jackets, embroidered shirts and prints will be here to stay with the cool weather. Whatever way you choose to style up your wardrobe, you have the best of the bold colors and the simplistic style to complement one another as you gear up for this fall and have the same New York City street style here on campus!
