It is not every day that you can say your school has been used as the set for a movie or TV show! As news quickly spread that we had a celebrity on campus on Tuesday morning, February 4th, some students found an excuse to take a stroll behind Reid Castle to try to get a glimpse of Kevin Bacon who was shooting an episode for the television show, The Following. Other areas of the campus used in the filming include The President’s Cottage and third floor of the Castle.
In the midst of all the excitement, the parking lots behind the castle were filled with trailers for the TV show and made it difficult for students to find alternative parking spots. This resulted in several students having trouble getting to class on time.
This is not the first time that Manhattanville College has been selected as the site for a Hollywood movie or TV show. Just last spring, actors Tina Fey and Paul Rudd shot a few scenes for the movie Admissions (2013) on the third floor of the castle. And in prior years, the campus has been the filming location for other renowned films such as The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). With all of this positive media attention, what better way is there for Manhattanville College to maintain its reputation as a fine liberal arts school and spark interest in prospective applicants than by making an appearance on the silver screen!
